There are all
preconditions for the further dynamic development of Ukrainian-Chinese
relations towards the strategic partnership.
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and Wang Zhaoguo, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, made the foregoing statement at the meeting on Monday.
"Such meetings are the meetings with friends united by the past, the present, and the future," V.Lytvyn stated.
The Head of the Parliament informed that Ukraine is closely watching the developments in the People´s Republic of China, is interested in the growth of bilateral cooperation and political contacts. V.Lytvyn stressed that Ukraine attaches great importance to the visit of the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also believes that the state visit of Hu Jintao, President of the People´s Republic of China, to Ukraine in June will become a milestone of bilateral relations, start a new chapter in the Ukrainian-Chinese relations, and foster further cooperation. According to V.Lytvyn, this visit will make the strategic partnership more fruitful.
In his turn, the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China stated that Ukraine and China are good friends and reliable partners, and hold similar standpoints on numerous international issues. He stressed that the People's Republic of China highly appreciates further development of bilateral relations.

appreciated
the results of the state visit of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to the
People´s Republic of China in September 2010, and the official visit of Prime
Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov to China in April 2011. "We highly appreciate
the fact that Ukraine placed development of relations with the People´s
Republic of China among the priorities of its foreign policy," he stated. "We
should foster cooperation and bring it onto a new level."
The Parties called for further development of inter-parliamentary relations to strengthen Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation.
Along these lines, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that Ukraine was looking forward to the official visit of Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, and Li Zhaoxing, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China.
The Parties laid emphasis on the great potential of Ukrainian-Chinese relations in the economic, scientific-technological, military, innovational, scientific, educational, humanitarian, and cultural sectors.
V.Lytvyn thanked the Chinese side for supporting organization of the Ukrainian Culture Days in the People's Republic of China. On behalf of the Verkhovna Rada, he guaranteed assistance in the organization of the Chinese Culture Days in Ukraine.
